This is a hands-on class, where students work in small groups to create short videos.

First, exercises are explained and students receive shooting tips in the areas of pictorial continuity, composition and thinking like an editor.

Students then create short videos working with clowns from our concurrent clowning class, Clowning Around: Everyone is Funny.

All equipment is supplied.

No experience necessary.

Students should bring a USB stick, with at least one gigabyte of free space, if they wish to take their work home.

Instructor Rick Palidwor has had numerous short films and videos broadcast in Canada and abroad and he is the producer and co-director of the award-winning feature Sleep Always. Rick has taught filmmaking at Hart House, York University, George Brown College, and Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) for many years. Rick is currently Administrative Assistant to the Creative Classes at Hart House.
